Cereal Advert -1ENG

We made an advert for cereal and the image is what my buddy, Anthony and I made. Our targeted demographic was children between the ages 5 to 16. The goal was to make it colourful to attract the children’s attention. The name we agreed on was ‘Rainbow Crunch’. Our phrase was ‘taste the magic rainbow’ so kids could see it and be eager to try it as soon as possible.

Balloon Tower Wero – Kotahitanga – 1PE

Kia ora.

On Thursday 13/06.24 my volleyball team: consisting of Edekai D, Angela R, Bruce D, Sonny K, Shay B, Micheal W and Jewellant W, were tasked to do a team building task.

The objective was to build the highest free standing building using 6 straws, 6 balloons,6 paper cups, a pair of chopsticks, tape and scissors. There was only a couple rules.

1st Rule was to use all the materials given (except the scissors and tape).

2nd rule was we cant sabotage other teams.

3rd rule was the tower must stand freely for 20 seconds to count.

We had 5 minutes to discuss our game plans and 20 minutes to build the tower.

Our plan was to use 2 cups and connect them with straws on the sides and a chopstick down the middle for extra support them place a blown up balloon at the very top to help and to repeat this till we ran out of cups. the next part was to tape all the extra balloons at the bottom for support.

As we built the tower everything was going according to plan but then we weren’t placing the cups in the middle of the balloon and it starting leaning to the left but it stayed strong an we came second place.

The main goal was to incorporate kotahitanga and work together. I believe we accomplished that main goal because we all shared our ideas and everyone helped build the tower in their own way.

Creative Short Writing

In the midst of an unilluminated battlefield, accompanied with the feeling of being watched by a thousand eyes. sounds of swords clashed. Suddenly, a bright light catches my attention. I look up to see three soldiers with a laurel crest on their shields. With their light, I see that they are fighting against a horde of monsters; evil monitors, Syrians, sirens, and even cyclops. Their armor is stained with green blood as evidence of their skill.

The darkness appears once more, slowly engulfing the light like mold growing over its food. I feel some sort of thick liquid confining my legs restricting my ability to move. the feeling of the liquid creeps up to my torso. I can’t look down. My eyes are fixed on the heroes light. fear sets in. Thoughts racing through my head, confused on what’s happening.

The darkness won. Stuck with no light feeling compressed like hundreds of elephants on every single part of my body. It’s getting harder to breath. Feeling of being emerged in a thick mud. What is this place?, what is happing?, When will this stop? will it stop?. This paralysing feeling is getting too much to physically handle. Is it possible to end this pain, this feeling? I have no options. No way out. I guess this must be the end.

Science Fair

For my science fair I’ve been experimenting with sports drinks. I have 2 other partners in my group. Carrda and Carter. We wanted to test the electrolytes and experience how much energy and feeling of hydration we get. we tested 3 drinks Powerade, Gatorade and E2. we tested it in 3 different activities. Gaming, rugby and volleyball. Overall Powerade won and I believe it is because Powerade has a high water percentage then the other dinks and has less salt contents which actually can absorb liquids.
Carrda says
“The world would be a better place if I proved that Powerade ION 4 raid is better than Gatorade it would be life changing for me.”

Dream Holiday Location

I would travel a far to place called Mars and look for the lonely Mars Rover. End its pain and sorrow by taking him apart as quick as a swallow. Reuse, recycle to build me a spot, a spot with shade and shelter. To hide me from the weather of the intellectual deficient disaster. This spot is as hot as Australia and as cramped as the slums of the Bahamas. I would spend my days alone, 24 hours and 37  minutes in a day enough to binge watch some Anime. I’ll look for a giant rock and sleep without a second thought. With no living predator’s I am as safe a flying flock. I would be bored with no one to play . I wish I wouldn’t travel a far because there’s no reception to contact my Guys. I can not use my data this far out, with no one to play I’m stuck. With out a friend or good internet for my preciousness entertainment.

My School Holidays

During my school holidays went back and fourth between work at the Waiomio Glow Worm Caves. I’m now a trained tour guide. They put me at the front window and did  all the money along with working at the till. I started out as a lantern holder always standing at the back of the line making sure people follow 3 simple rules. No taking videos and photos, no food or drinks in the cave and making sure people don’t touch the rocks. I had to pay attention to what people would say and ask other tour guides for tips about being a good tour guide. Sadly I hard to memorize the science and technical stuff about the glow worms. Time for fun facts. They glow because of a chemical reaction called bioluminescence. The scientific term for glow worms is arochno campo luminosis. that took me ages to remember that. they mainly have two predator’s, the Cave Weta and the huntsman spider. The glow worms lay along the celling of the cave for two reasons, the cave Weta and they follow the river.

During the last week of the holidays I traveled down to Whangarei to play volleyball at a community thing. So Monday afternoon I went to my Aunts house in Whangarei. I woke up latte and rushed to the shops for a pie and made it barely on time and signed in. For the day we focused of our attacking/blocking. I meet up with some friends I made last time they did a community volleyball program. One is a setter and another is a right side hitter. I feel like I improved when I was there. I feel a lot more fluent in my footwork. As soon I we finished I Got MacDonald’s. I got a large Big Mac combo with a chocolate milkshake.
